The Celebration Garden continues to evolve
The site alongside the Somerleyton Estate in Brixton was chosen by XRL Gardeners at the start of summer. After the first action day, during which around 20 Rebels contributed to a dramatic transformation of this unkempt area of wasteland, the garden was dubbed the Citizen’s Assembly Celebration Garden in recognition of the Council’s announcement of a citizen’s assembly for the borough.
After a third action day there is now a greenhouse and a pond, as well numerous trees and plants. We’ve even seen some tomatoes starting to appear!
