IT’S TIME TO GET READY TO REBEL
XRUK’s biggest rebellion so far is happening in April to force the government to act in this crucial year for the climate and ecological crisis. And XR Lambeth have a brand-new plan for getting rebels old and new trained, united and ready.
Our strength in Lambeth has always been in our deep love and trust for the talented, warm, creative, supportive people from the local group who we have been in rebellion alongside.The pandemic has weakened that web of friendship and connectedness by stopping us meeting in person. So now it’s time to get together and get to know each other by doing important, interesting and fun stuff locally.
Two experienced rebels have proposed a new range of regular actions and trainings to make us feel empowered, confident and united before April.They have also developed a streamlined communications pathway for rebels. (Traditionally, in XR Lambeth it has been difficult to find a way through the blizzard of information on WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Facebook and Instagram to discover what’s happening where and when). It was agreed that they matched both XR’s new strategy for 2022, and the outcomes of XRL’s Peoples Assembly in the Park and online consultation survey from July 2021.
